Like many institutions and companies the Garden Museum is suffering from a shortfall in funds due to COVID-19 restrictions and is still currently closed until early July.
The Museum is particularly vulnerable because 70% of their income is from visitors, events, café and venue hire. Between March and June they have lost £270,000.
That is why Museum Director Christopher Woodward is undertaking an epic 50 mile sponsored swim to raise funds.
He will swim from Newlyn in Cornwall to Tresco, Isles of Scilly. It retraces a journey made by the historic painter-gardener Cedric Morris.
