This autumn features numerous events taking place at all five RHS gardens. From flower shows and plant fairs to cèilidh bands and food festivals, the events run from the beginning of September to late January 2023 (dates as listed per event below):

RHS Photography Competition, Friday 2 Sep – Sun 9 October
Come and enjoy the very best of garden and plant photography, with a selection of winning images from the RHS Photographic Competition on display in the gardens.
RHS Garden Bridgewater:
Chinese Festival of the Moon, 9-11 Sept
Find out all about the traditions and celebrations of the mid-autumn festival, with fun activities for all the family, including storytelling and lantern making, at this weekend-long celebration.
NW Counties Early Flowering Chrysanthemum Show, Tues 20 Sept
After the Chrysanthemum Society’s early-flowering blooms are judged, the displays will be opened up for public viewing, and the flowers sold off at the end of the day.

Walkies at Harlow Car, Weds 14 Sept
Explore the 58 acres of garden with your four-legged friend on a special evening walk at RHS Harlow Carr.
Bath House Exhibition: Autumn Delights, 15 Sep – 16 October
Visit the historic Bath House at RHS Harlow Carr for our spectacular Autumn Crafts display, with local artists, crafters and designers showcasing their work.
RHS Garden Hyde Hall:
The Dahlia Show, Friday 2 – Sun 4 Sept
Enjoy a kaleidoscope of colour as vibrant dahlia blooms fill every available space. On show will be a diverse range of cultivations in a multitude of colours.
Textile exhibition: Hyde and Seek, Fri 9 – Sun 18 Sept
This exhibition showcases a wide variety of textile work, and will also offer the opportunity to purchase cards, portfolio pieces, brooches, necklaces and much more. Some of the artists will also be on hand each day to answer any questions.
Autumn plant fair, Fri 16 & Sat 17 Sept
Browse and buy from a wide range of specialist nurseries. Take in planting inspiration and receive advice for the season ahead. Organised in partnership with Essex Plant Heritage.
RHS Garden Rosemoor:
Gardeners’ Question Time Live, Tuesday 6 September
Be part of a live audience for BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time, with a chance to submit your own questions to a panel of horticultural experts.
Plant Heritage Autumn Plant Fair, Sat 10 Sept
First held at RHS Rosemoor over 20 years ago, this popular plant fair offers keen gardeners an opportunity to browse a wide variety of rare and unusual trees, shrubs and perennials from local nurseries, many of which are not generally open to the public.
History Alive! with Great Torrington, Sat 10 & Sun 11 Sept
Be transported back to the 17th Century, and discover what life was like for the apothecary, the cooks and the other civilians as men went off to fight in the Civil War.
Rosemoor Live: 3 Daft Monkeys, Friday 23 Sept
3 Daft Monkeys are celebrating an unbelievable 21 years of music making. The band are known for their theatrical live performances and infectious dancing rhythms, and with a fiery blend of influences from East and West, their music is uniquely wild.
Rosemoor Live: Ceilidh Night, Saturday 24 September
Grab your partner by the hand and gather together for a night of dancing and fun at RHS Garden Rosemoor, with live music from Banned From The Moor.

RHS Garden Wisley Flower Show 30th Anniversary, Tues 6 – Sun 11 Sep
This spectacular late-summer floral event returns to celebrate its 30th anniversary, bringing gardening inspiration, expert advice, vibrant floral displays and fabulous shopping opportunities.
Visitors’ Dahlia Competition, Sat 10 & Sun 11 Sep
Enter your favourite dahlia blooms in the Visitors' Dahlia Competition at the RHS Garden Wisley Flower Show, or visit to see incredible local blooms displayed in the late summer gardens.
Walkies at Wisley, Tues 13 Sep
Bring your four-legged friend along to explore RHS Garden Wisley for this special dog-friendly early evening event. Booking is required.
Discovering Dahlias, Fri 30 Sep
Enjoy the visually spectacular sight of hundreds of dahlias in an enormous range of colours, shapes and sizes, while learning how to grow and care for them in your own garden.

October half term: Deadliest Plants and Bugs: Sat 22 – Sun 30 Oct
This half term discover the clever creepy-crawlies and super-smart plants that fight back!
With lots of fun hands-on activities for all the family to enjoy, find out how plants and insects from cacti to centipedes use fangs, stings, spines and slime to defend themselves and their habitats.

Exhibition: What next for Bridgewater?, 14 Oct – 31 January 2023
Get involved and have your say about the plans for the next phase of the garden.
RHS Garden Harlow Carr:
National Alpine Show, Sat 15 Oct (10am-4pm)
Harlow Carr is famed for its alpines, with tiny treasures offering colour and texture in the Alpine House all year round. See an array of finely-grown alpine plants and pick some up to take home from local nurseries.
Late fruit and vegetable competition, Thurs 20 – Sun 23 Oct
This prestigious RHS-judged competition returns to RHS Harlow Carr following the inaugural event in 2021. Delight in stunning displays of home-grown produce, with more than 60 classes of champion fruit and vegetables. The competition is free to enter and everyone is welcome to take part.
Bath House Exhibition: Christmas Crafts, Thu 20 Oct – Wed 23 Dec
Discover a stunning selection of works at the Christmas Crafts display in the historic Bath House. With a huge array of locally handcrafted pieces it’s the perfect place to stock up on seasonal treats for friends and family.
RHS Garden Hyde Hall:
Woodland Wellbeing Walks, Tuesdays in Oct & Nov
During the winter months join a guided tour of the Hyde Hall woodland and estate. This circular route around the garden takes about 90 minutes and is a great way to discover the beauty and tranquillity of the winter season.
RHS Garden Wisley:
Cyclamen Show, Sat 8 Oct
Join the Cyclamen Society for displays and competition classes featuring rare and interesting autumn flowering cyclamen, displays from the Wisley Alpine Team, books, art and plants for sale.

All gardens
16 November 2022 – 8 January 2023: RHS Glow
Bigger and better than ever before, the sell-out Glow event returns to all five RHS gardens this winter. See the gardens in a whole new light, as twinkling trails and colourful displays illuminate sculptural trees and winter blooms as dusk falls.

Magic of Christmas Craft and Food Fair, Thurs 24 – Sat 26 Nov
A magical fair full of temptation and delights from a mixture of food and craft stalls. With carefully selected artisan traders from around the West Country, there is sure to be something for everyone.
RHS Garden Wisley:
Festive Craft and Gift Fair, Weds 9 – Sun 13 Nov
Purchase gifts or a little something for yourself at the Christmas Craft Fair, including the Jewellery and Silversmith exhibitors. Browse and buy from some of the best artisan makers in the country.
