The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta® is back for 2023, with the last event having taken place in 2019 – which raised £76,000 for The Lord Mayor's Appeal.
The Regatta is the official ballooning event of The City of London and is the aerial extension of the historic Lord Mayor’s Show.
Normally, each year up to 50 hot air balloons take flight across central London raising awareness and funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal. Leading the launch is the official Lord Mayor’s Appeal hot air balloon which carries the Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress or representatives.
The event was originally planned for 14th May, 2023, but has been subsequently rescheduled several times due to unsuitable weather conditions.
Currently the proposed date is: Sunday 1st October, 2023, with a standby date of Sunday 22nd October, 2023.
