The Chelsea Physic Garden, London is hosting a fascinating Sunday Introduction to Garden History Talk & Walk, with expert garden historian Deborah Trentham, as part of the Garden’s 350th anniversary year.
The event will start with a presentation about the Garden's history, then an exploration of highlighted areas. Attendees will also learn about the history of horticulture and it is connected to London's oldest botanic garden. A Q&A will then follow.
Deborah was trained in the history of art, architecture and garden history, and has been teaching garden history for fifteen years. Formerly a teacher of garden history at Birkbeck (University of London) and Capel Manor College where she also taught the history of architecture, Deborah currently teaches garden design students for KLC School of Design at Chelsea Harbour and Hampton Court Palace, along with lecturing at Imperial College London. Deborah was the Historic Gardens judge for the Society of Garden Designers Awards for five years.
