February 3rd 2022
As part of the University of Oxford Botanic Garden's Winter Lecture Series 2022, Richard Deverell (Director, RBG Kew) will give an online talk raising questions such as:
-
How can botanic gardens help to save humanity?
- Why should we care about nature and what can we do to ensure it thrives, alongside humanity, in the 21st century?
- What role can botanic gardens play in developing and delivering solutions here in the UK and around the world?
Richard says: "I will argue that botanic gardens – these beautiful, diverse and
historic organisations - have a vital role in helping humanity, and all
life on earth, not just to survive these global challenges, but to
thrive. Botany is the science that will save humanity."
