June 7th 2022
This garden tour event has been organised by the Garden Museum's Garden Visits Committee and covers visits to two country gardens in Suffolk; Holm House and Pykards Hall.
Beginning at Holm House, which is a recent build (2007), with gardens originally designed by Suffolk-based Janey Auchincloss and then extended and adjusted, (since 2016) by hosts Rebecca and Phil Shelley, with the addition of a beautiful two-acre lake and island and a wildflower garden.
Lunch at a country pub will follow, and then a drive to Grade II listed Pykards Hall, where you will be greeted by hosts Clive and Louise Drayton. The gardens surrounding this historic, timber-framed house have been redesigned over the past six years by landscape architect John DeJardin, including the addition of a spiral mound and an amphitheatre.
The tour will conclude with host Louise, who will kindly run through a pot planting demonstration, before afternoon tea in the garden.
