This year's annual CIH (Chartered Institute of Horticulture) James Bruce Memorial Lecture is presented by Alan Sargent FCIHort on theme of 'The Changing Face of Professional Landscaping – Fifty Years of Reflections', (the lecture takes place each year after the Institute’s AGM.)
On the day of the lecture, Alan celebrates 56 years in horticulture and has had an extensive career, starting out in 1968 learning his trade from lifelong gardeners. In 1984, he became a Founder member of The Institute of Horticulture and at the same time embarking on a series of RHS Flower Show gardens – constructing over 60 between 1984 and 2005 (37 of which as designer). These are just some of the achievements of Alan Sargent FCIHort (Horticultural Author, Columnist & Expert Witness).
