The collaboration between AIPH and WCOG and a network of partners, experts, and sponsors led to the production of the well-known, (free-to-view) 'Green City Briefings'. Continuing on from the last three years of Briefings, the 2024 series will continue in September, with the fourth webinar of the year being held on:

'Planting for managing urban heat'

'This webinar briefing will focus on the importance and opportunities to plant trees and plants in urban areas to help mitigate the urban heat island effect. Hear from experts on the use of plants to create more sustainable and resilient cities.'

Programme:

13:00 – Welcome by MC Sebastien Turbot, Director, Content Development, Earthna, Qatar.

13:15 – Presentation by Debbie Bartlett, Professor of Environmental Conservation at the University of Greenwich.

This talk will focus on the research carried out for the ‘Cool Towns’ INTERREG project carried out in collaboration with partners from Belgium, France and the Netherlands which developed tools to enable towns and cities to develop their own heat resilience strategies.
