Journey through the beautiful New Zealand countryside, travelling from Auckland down to Queenstown, taking in horticultural treasures along the way, from the stunning sub-tropical Totara Waters Garden in Auckland, to the spectacular Hamilton Gardens. Along with the premier festivals for gardeners, the Taranaki Garden Festival and Garden Marlborough. The outstanding Paloma Gardens at Whanganui and New Zealand’s only native botanic gardens Otari/Wilton’s Bush. A visit to Glenfalloch Woodland Gardens, situated in a coastal valley overlooking the harbour and Lan Yuan, Dunedin Chinese Garden.
In addition to these horticultural highlights, enjoy a scenic cruise across Lake Te Anau to the Te Anau Caves, and drift in silent darkness beneath the luminous shimmer of thousands of glow-worms. Another highlight of the trip is Fiordland National Park, in the Southwest New Zealand World Heritage Area one of the great wilderness areas of the Southern Hemisphere with its spectacular scenery including lofty mountains and deep valleys carved out by Ice Age glaciers. You will join a cruise down the fiord at Milford Sound past Mitre Peak to the open sea, where seals and dolphins are often seen.
