Perennial Special Event: Madresfield Court

June 27th 2024

Visit the historic Madresfield Court (circa 12th century) – a moated stately home of the Lygon family, for a garden tour and lunch, as part of this Perennial Special Event.

In addition to the formal gardens and lawns to the front of the house, features include a Pulhamite rock garden assembled in 1879 and a herbaceous border, the Ginkgo Avenue, The Yew Garden of Mawson design, and Caesar's Lawn.

The tour guide will be Head Gardener David Butt and also in attendance will be Francesca Murray, gardener and keen garden history enthusiast – sharing her wealth of knowledge on Perennial and its rich history. She is currently studying for a PhD at Queen Mary University of London on 19th century gardeners, nurserymen, and the associations that came to their aid.
