Historic Landscapes Assembly 2022

The Gardens Trust presents their upcoming seventh annual Historic Landscapes Assembly. The theme for this year's assembly is 'Our Landscape Heritage At Risk: climate change and development'.

The day will feature discussion and information-sharing, beginning with Dr Victoria Thomson, Historic England's Head of National Strategy - updating attendees on the the implications of planning reform, followed by an expert panel discussion. The afternoon will begin with Jo Barnes of The Gardens Trust's Conservation Committee speaking about the climate emergency in relation to landscape heritage, this will then be followed by an expert panel discussion.

The Gardens Trust Conservation Officer Margie Hoffnung will outline some of 2022's key planning casework issues.

Lunch is included and the day will end with a 'celebration of garden history research', including presentation of the Mavis Batey Essay Prize and the celebration of 50 years of the Garden History journal.
