As part of The Gardens Trust’s Historic Landscape Assemblies 2023, a conference day will be held on the theme of 'Historic Landscape Designation'. This theme marks the 40th anniversary of the national Heritage Act and the Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest.
Speakers (still being confirmed) include; Chris Blandford (Chair of the Gardens Trust Conservation Committee), Peter Goodchild (one of the original advocates for protection and a national register), David Jacques, (English Heritage’s first Inspector of Historic Parks and Gardens), Erika Diaz-Petersen, (Historic England Principal National Landscape Adviser), Jenifer White (previously Historic England Principal National Landscape Adviser), Deborah Evans (historic landscape consultant), William Hanham (historic property owner), Ben Cowell (Historic Houses).
